Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (SACM) on Information Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) does not have the courage to hold long march.
The SACM said that the PDM leaders looted the country and will not tender resignations. The sleazy opposition is being led by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-president Maryam Nawaz, she added. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has become a symbol of helplessness while the politics of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) President Fazlur Rehman has ended.
She further said that those who put the lives of people at stake during coronavirus are shameless. The SACM said the opposition spread Covid-19 due to its stubbornness and 51 persons succumbed to the pandemic in Punjab in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant Chief Minister on Information Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan called on Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad here in the office of Interior Ministry. She congratulated Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad on his taking over the portfolio of Interior Ministry. While expressing her good wishes for Sheikh Rasheed’s success as interior Minister, she said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had brought his best player in playing field. She hoped that Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad would play important role for the victory against PDM in future. Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad thanked Dr. Firdous for her good wishes.
Later, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan called on Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Nawaf bin Saeed Al Maliki and Ambassador of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Hamad Obaid Ibrahim separately at the respective embassies. During the meetings, Issues of mutual interest, including promotion of bilateral relations with the two countries, were discussed. On the occasion, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that relations between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are based on shared traditions, religious values and social similarities. Bilateral relations and further cooperation in various fields were also discussed during the meeting. During a meeting with the Saudi ambassador, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that trade and economic ties between the two countries need to be further enhanced. She said in a meeting with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates that Pakistan and the UAE have deep, historic and fraternal ties, and the UAE stood by Pakistan in every difficult hour. The UAE Ambassador appreciated the steps taken by the Pakistani government to control the Corona epidemic and said that the lockdown had created difficulties but the government’s steps were commendable.
