Poets, writers and intellectuals while attending a Mushaira (poetry recital) on Wednesday paid rich tributes to the Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah for carving out a separate state for the Muslims of India to safeguard their political, economic and civil rights.

While speaking on the occasion, Dr Wahid Ahmed commended the participating poets for presenting their kalam in praise of the Quaid and highlighting his struggle for Pakistan.
This reflects your deep sense of association with your country and its founder, he said, adding it would also keep alive the flame of patriotism in the hearts of our young generation.
Dr Wahid was of the view the NPC’s role was commendable in building the minds of the people, particularly the youth in accordance with the vision of the Founder of Pakistan and his close associates and soldiers of the Pakistan Movement.
He also spoke high of the NPC’s monthly literary and cultural forum Nukta-e-Nazr and its constructive meetings that provided the writers and the poets a platform to exchange their views and express their ideas.
Dr Wahid Ahmed mentioned the Founder Chairman of the NPC and late Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer Zahid Malik who coined the idea of the NPC and made it an active, vigilant forum to provide the government as well as the nation guidance on key issues of national interest.
Participants of the ceremony also offered Fateha for the Chairman of the NPC Dr Naeem Ghani who passed away earlier this month.
