On December 7, the opening ceremony of the International Training Program “ China Pakistan Traditional Chinese Medicine Technical Training Course 2020” was held in the Digital Classroom of Qingdao Binhai University.
The International Training was sponsored by Qingdao Binhai University, co-organized by Services Institute of Medical Sciences. Qingdao Binhai University Vice President Liu Lianxin, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs Office De Tieying, Dean of Medical School Li Xiuyan, Director of Foreign Affairs Office Qiao Shibao participated from China Side. Vice President of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan & Ex-Principal of SIMS Professor Mahmood Ayyaz, Professor of Surgery Prof. Waris Farooka, from the Services Institute of Medical Sciences, Vice President of Qingdao Binhai University South Asia campus & One Belt One Road Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz, Lecturer Dr. Ali Abbas, Economic Affairs magazine CEO Mr. Sohail Chaudhry, Muhammad Javed Iqbal, Muhammad Ali Akbar Translator,other leaders and more than 50 people including teachers and students from China and Pakistan participated in the opening ceremony.
At the opening ceremony, Vice President Liu pointed out that China and Pakistan are good friends and iron brothers. There is a Chinese saying that you can see the truth in adversity. In February 2020, at the beginning of the Chinese people’s united fight against the epidemic, Pakistan, as China’s “iron Brother”, overcame its own difficulties and actively sent all the reserved PPE’s to us from the government to the private sector, and donated urgently needed epidemic prevention materials to China. This made us very much Moved, this reflects the deep brotherly friendship between China and Pakistan. At the same time, as one of China’s national quintessence, traditional Chinese medicine is rooted in China’s traditional culture for thousands of years and is profound. The content of this training course for suitable Chinese medicine techniques is rich and diverse. I hope that everyone can have a basic understanding of Chinese Traditional medicine through this rare opportunity. At the same time, Pakistani students are also welcome to study in Qingdao Binhai University to study our Chinese Traditional medicine.
Principal Ayaz Mahmoud expressed his gratitude to Qingdao Binhai University for the careful organization of this training event, and emphasized that both China and Pakistan have ancient civilizations and long histories, as well as splendid and rich cultural traditions. This training class provides a great opportunity for Pakistani teachers and students, especially young students, to learn about Chinese and Pakistani culture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
I look forward to the complete success of the Qingdao Binhai University’s TCM training course for Pakistan. I hope that the two Institutes will continue to jointly organize such activities in the future, promote the deepening of exchanges between the two schools, and wish the long-lasting friendship between China and Pakistan. Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz, Ambassador of One Belt One Road and Vice President of Qingdao Binhai University South Asia Campus on this occasion said that this is great opportunity for Pakistani students to learn basic and advance Techniques and theory of TCM. He said that today is historical day and he is feeling immense pleasure to be the host, organizer and Trainer for this course from Pakistan side. In the future he will play also an important role to arrange such kind of training course for the Pakistani students to decrease cultural barrier between two countries.
Dean Li Xiuyan of the School of Medicine pointed out that Chinese medicine has a long history and unique characteristics. This 14-day training course on Traditional Chinese medicine techniques will be live broadcasted online.
It will systematically and comprehensively explain the basic theory and advanced practical knowledge and main points of Chinese medicine to Pakistani teachers and students in a theory + practical training method. The content involves meridian and acupuncture General monographs, and various massage techniques, Tuna, moxibustion techniques, and compression techniques. I hope that students can study hard, increase their interest in learning Chinese medicine and master the basic knowledge and techniques of Chinese medicine.
It is reported that this Traditional Chinese Medicine Technical Training course project is one of the 49 national projects approved by the Ministry of Education and the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges according to the requirements of the 2020 education foreign aid work and after expert review. It is also the first Chinese medicine Technical Training course for our School.
