Commissioner and Administrator Karachi IftikharShallwani has said that Olympian Islahuddin Road and AllamaShabbir Ahmed Usmani Road in Eastern District are being improved through reconstruction and repair to facilitate millions of residents of the area. The water and sewerage system has also been repaired along with the construction. Improvement of roads is the top priority in infrastructure waste development. Rehabilitation and construction work of affected roads will also be done in other districts of Karachi, he said. He was speaking at the laying of the foundation stone of Olympian Islahuddin Road and AllamaShabbir Ahmad Usmani Road in Eastern District on Wednesday, Director General Works and Services Shabiha Al Hassan Zaidi, concerned engineers and other officers were also present. The Commissioner said that the condition of Olympian Islahuddin Road was very bad and due to sewage overflow there were potholes on the road in some places which made it difficult to pass through here. Commissioner and Administrator Karachi also inspected the construction work on the occasion and directed to immediately remove all encroachments from the service road in the vicinity. Later, Commissioner and Administrator Karachi Iftikhar ShalLwani laid the foundation stone for rehabilitation and repair of a track from MaskanChowrangi to Gulshan Flyover Allama Shabbir Ahmed Usmani Road.
