Shafqat urges students not to use time as holidays

Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood tweeted on Tuesday that the government had to close educational institutions due to rising cases of the coronavirus. ‘It was done with a heavy heart,’ he said, requesting all the students not to waste this time.

On November 23, the federal government had announced to shut all educational institutions from November 26 to December 24 due to a spike in COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Minister Shahram Khan Tarakai has said that during the second wave of coronavirus, the students should to focus on homework and assignments. He urged this while talking to media persons during his visit to a government school in Peshawar on Tuesday.
Shahram Khan Tarakai inspected various classes on the occasion and encouraged the students to implement SOPs. Responding a question, he said that the second wave of Corona is very dangerous which claimed hundreds of lives. Referring to the provision of facilities in schools, the provincial education minister said that the facilities were being providing to schools by parents teachers council.
Shahram Tarakai said that about 25,000 vacancies have been advertised for the availability of teachers across the province including merged districts. He said that the Education Department is also taking steps for online classes through WhatsApp groups, social media and Education Department website.
