Yatrees arrive to mark Guru Nanak birthday

More than 600 Sikh Yatrees on Friday arrived Lahore through Wagah Joint check Post (JCP) to perform religious rites in connection with the 551st Birthday anniversary of their spiritual leader Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The group was led by Sikh leader Amarjeet Singh (party leader) Member Shoromni Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) holding Indian passport. At Wagah border, Tariq Wazir, Additional Secretary Shrine, Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), Satwant Singh, President of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandak Committee (PSGPC), Ameer Singh, General Secretary, PSGPC and Bishan Singh ex-President PSGPC welcomed them.
Besides, the representatives of Punjab health department checked all passengers with thermal fever gun and also observed their negative test reports of COVID-19 which they were carrying. On their arrival Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) offered refreshment to the Sikh pilgrims. Subsequently, after Immigration and Custom formalities the delegates set off from Wagha border and proceeded to Gurdwara Janamasthan Nankana Sahib by buses arranged by ETPB.
During arrival of Sikh pilgrims the security and other arrangements were satisfactory the local police provided them security shelter at Wagah border as well as during their journey from wagha border to Nankana sahib. The said delegation has come to Pakistan to participate in 551st Birthday celebrations of their Master Guru Baba Nanak Dev Ji being organised at Gurdwara Janamastan Nankana Sahib on November 30, 2020.
It is pertinent to mention here that Islamabad based Indian staff membrer of Indian High Commission namely. R.B Sohran and Santosh Kumar also reached Wagha border from Islamabad for the facilitation of India Sikh Pilgrims. It is added that Sikh pilgrims brought a Palki for Guru Garanth Sahib from India too which they will place in Gurdwara. It is pertinent to mention here that both Indian staff members of Indian High Commission set off from Wagha and proceeded to Hotel Avari, Lahore after formalities of welcome of the pilgrims.
