The Lahore Art Council organized a special evening with renowned folk singer Shaukat Faqeer in connection with Sindh Culture Day in which Shoukat Faqeer performed different songs in Urdu, Punjabi, Pashto, Balochi, Sindi, Marwari and Saraiki. “Ho Jamalo” has been the reason of Shoukat Faqeer’s popularity. There was a huge variety in the program that inspired the audience. On Social Media, live program was appreciated the most by the viewers. Youngsters participated in the progamme with strict observance of Corona SOPs. The program contained very interesting content for the people having any culture of Pakistan.
The reason of people’s love for Alhamra is that it has been organizing such programs which are based on local culture, languages, customs, norms and values.
The song “Ho-Jamalo” captured the attention. ‘‘Yar dadi ishq atish lai hai’’ was performed in Saraiki, ‘’mara ay, mara sada yar jo ay’’ in Punjabi, ‘’Jiye Sindh Jiye’’ in Sindhi, ‘’Taloo-e-Seher hai Sham-e-Qalandar’’ in Urdu, ‘’Khari neem k neche hun’’ in Marwari’’ and other items in other languages were presented exclusively.
LAC Executive Director Saman Rai expressed his feelings about the great evening and said the mixture of traditional songs has made the program unique which could become a good reason for the promotion of Folk-singing and National-harmony.
People from across the world, especially Lahorites watched the program and felt its cultural variety and depth.
