Changes were made in the plan to bring Begum Shamim Akhtar’s dead body from London to Lahore. Preparations were completed to send the body back home tomorrow or Thursday. According to sources, Shahbaz Sharif will receive his mother’s body at the airport. It may be recalled that Begum Shamim Akhtar, mother of Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif, who passed away in London on Sunday, will be taken to Pakistan for burial next to her late husband.
According to Sharif family sources, Begum Shamim Akhtar’s funeral prayers will be offered first in London after which her body will be flown to Pakistan. Punjab Prisons Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan has said that the government will decide on release on parole once the date of arrival of Sharif brothers’ mother’s body in Pakistan is known.
Punjab Prisons Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan has said in a video message that Nawaz Sharif was released on parole for 12 days on the death of Kulsoom Nawaz. The Deputy Commissioner can only be released on parole for twelve hours, the decision to release more than twelve hours will be taken by the provincial government. He said that the government would provide full facility to Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz so that they could fully participate in the funeral prayers and other rituals of Begum Shamim Akhtar.
