Sindh Minister for Local Government and Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has announced to give three months fire risk allowance to the employees of Karachi Metropolitan Fire Brigade. Ahmed was accompanied by Chief Fire Officer Mubeen Ahmed and others were also present on the occasion.
The Provincial Minister for Local Government inspected the fire fighting vehicles and met the firemen. He said that firemen are working in difficult conditions but behind this work there is their passion and determination which should be in other human beings to save any human life. He said that out of the arrears of fire risk allowance, in the first phase, three months fire risk allowance would be paid soon so that some relief could be given to them and it was given to the citizens with more courage and enthusiasm. Be able to serve “I have come to know that there is a shortage of staff in the fire brigade, especially for the drivers for whom I have issued necessary instructions and I hope that this matter will be resolved soon,” he said.
He said that the companies which have provided snorkel and fire tenders should also repair these vehicles as they would be able to do the job in a better way. He said that the fire brigade department is a very sensitive institution so their vehicles should be in good condition at all times.
Provincial Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah further directed that the services of some skilled people could be sought to impart more modern training to the firefighters. He said that fire stations in the areas where fire incidents are more prevalent. Boring arrangements should be made so that water supply can be provided on time.
Briefing the Provincial Minister for Local Government on his arrival, he said that there are 25 fire stations in the city at present out of which 14 are operational while 2 out of 5 snorkels are correct. Are in Earlier, Administrator and Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalawani said that the fire tenders which are in bad condition and the expenses incurred in fixing them should be brought in writing in the form of regular records so that the damaged vehicles can be repaired as soon as possible.
To make it usable, the Administrator and Commissioner Karachi further said that since the fire brigade is a very sensitive department, the problems faced in the matter of fuel will be resolved soon for which the provincial minister for local bodies has also directed if necessary. We will also increase the fuel of fire tenders
