Special Assistant Chief Minister Punjab for Information Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the foundation of the first welfare state in the world was laid by Islam in Madinah 14,000 ago. It was such a State where interests of poor, destitute and oppressed were ensured.
She further said that where standard of exaltation was piety, Arabians had no superiority over non-Arabic. Dr Firdus Ashiq Awan said that Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar, under the leadership of Imran Khan taking guidance from guiding principles of State of Madinah, which are also source of guidance and insight.
He expressed these views at the Government Degree College for Women, Daska, in connection with Shaan Rehmat-ul-Ulameen Week among the students on Sunday. Dr. Ashiq Awan said that she has come to pay homage to the district and tehsil administration, all government departments and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) organization which, on the direction of the Punjab government, has enthusiastically organized prestigious celebrations of Week. Later, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan also distributed awards among students. Earlier, on his arrival at Daska, the residents of Daska welcomed Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and showered him with flower petals and congratulated him on getting new responsibilities in the Punjab government.
