Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that with the onset of cold weather, domestic consumers are suffering from gas load shedding, women are unable to cook at home due to lack of gas. Federal government’s announcement to close CNG station for 35 days is an anti-people decision. Only common man will be affected by CNG shutdown in winter. He said the government should withdraw its decision to supply gas to CNG station for 35 days. He said that domestic consumers are facing severe problems due to gas load shedding and low pressure in the early hours of the morning. Due to the disappearance of gas, women have to send their children to school and men to work. There is no schedule for gas supply, so daily life is badly affected. On the other hand, neither the Sui Gas Department nor the government is making any alternative arrangements in the afternoon and morning, even if gas is available. So the pressure is so low that cooking takes two hours, while on the other hand in most parts of the city it is 10 o’clock at night.
