2,165 new Coronavirus cases, 25 deaths in Pakistan

Pakistan on Saturday reported 25 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel Coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 354,461. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 7,109.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center 2,165 persons have been tested positive for Covid-19 in 24 hours.
Till now 153,873 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 109,309 in Punjab, 41,723 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 23,533 in Islamabad, 16,328 in Balochistan, 5,261 in Azad Kashmir and 4,434 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mahmood Jan has tested positive for coronavirus.
Jan made the announcement on Saturday on Twitter, adding that his wife and son have also contracted the contagious disease. “Me, my wife and my son are covid positive. Please pray for us,” he wrote. Punjab has recorded 487 new coronavirus cases, down from 601 a day earlier, and seven more deaths, according to the government’s Covid-19 portal. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported 251 coronavirus cases and two more deaths.
Meanwhile, 865 new cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Sindh, taking the provincial tally to 154,738, according to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. Out of the total 865 cases, 666 were detected in Karachi alone.
Sixteen more people lost their lives due to the virus, with Sindh’s death toll climbing to 2,738.
