Special Assistant to CM on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that on the directives of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, Shane Rehmat ul Lil Alameen Week will be observed from November 16, to 22 to pay homage to Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) who is a source of light and guidance for the entire humanity.
She said that the Chief Minister has directed all the provincial departments to celebrate “Shane Rehmatul Lil Alameen” week with great respect and reverence. The “Shane Rehmatul Lil Alameen” week will be observed with great fervor and zeal across the province and in this regard different activities have been planned at division, district and tehsil level.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the world has seen a lot of scholars, philosophers and preachers but none was as great as the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW). “We want to send message to rest of the world that Islam is a religion of peace and promotes tolerance, brotherhood, and harmony. The life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) is a role model for every person of this world,” she added.
She said that the publication of blasphemous sketches in the West had hurt the sentiments of billions of Muslims around the globe and Prime Minister Imran Khan, becoming the voice of Muslim Ummah, strongly condemned it and raised the issue at every forum including the United Nations. She said that the Holy Prophet is an embodiment of mercy not only for Muslims but for all the mankind.
While briefing the media about different activities planned by the provincial government, she said that a special walk will be held after the Cabinet Committee meeting on Monday and all the provincial ministers will take part in it. Naatia Musharia will be arranged on Tuesday in which renowned poets will be invited from across the country. On Wednesday, a mega event will be arranged under the auspices of Higher Education Department at Qazaffi Stadium in which all the prize winners will be invited from all the districts. Ulma Mushaikh (Scholar) conference will be arranged on Thursday by Auqaf & Religious Affairs Department to promote inter-religious harmony. Calligraphy competition will be arranged on Friday in which calligraphic master pieces based on names of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) will be showcased.
In addition to this, Maulana Tariq Jameel will address the bureaucracy highlighting the significance of human rights besides helping the disenfranchised strata of the society. She said that the School Education Department will arrange debate competitions on Saturday and winners will be awarded with prizes.
The special assistant said that the CM will participate in all these events and Prime Minister Imran Khan will also be invited depending on his availability. The CM has also directed the Minister for Prisons to celebrate Shane Rehmatul Lil Alameen Week with prisoners and also proposed reduction in sentences of prisoners, she added.
In order to include media in the celebrations of Shane Rehmatul Lil Alameen Week, different ceremonies and functions will be organized in divisional and district press clubs whereas the channels will also air different programs with regard to “Shane Rehmatul Lil Alameen” week. She said that the government is aware of its responsibilities and keeping in view the ongoing corona situation, all SOPs will be strictly ensured in all these activities. Talking on the occasion, Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Ejaz Alam Augustine said that religious minorities residing in Pakistan strongly condemn the republication of blasphemous sketches in France. The conspiracy has been hatched to fan inter-religious hatred but we will not become part of any such conspiracy. “I assure the Muslim community that all minorities will actively participate in the celebrations of Shane Rehmatul Lil Alameen Week,” he added.
