The study finds out that over US $ 2.7 billion of trade potential exist if both countries fully manage to utilize their free trade agreement. The Study highlighted those goods which have the potential to raise exports baskets for both countries but are currently not being exported or at an insignificant value.
According to the calculations, there exist of over 1.2 billion of export potential for Pakistan with Sri Lanka. Based on the calculations, the three top potential products Cane Or Beet Sugar, Portland cement and rice products have the potential to double Pakistan’s exports to Sri Lanka with an export potential valued US$ 328 million. Similarly, Sri Lanka can potentially increase its exports to Pakistan to around US$ 1.5 billion.
