PCMEA seeks govt support

Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) Senior Vice Chairman Riaz Ahmed Monday said if the government would announce to help the carpet industry, it is possible that negative impact done to carpet industry in Pakistan due to coronavirus pandemic would be reduced at minimum level.
Addressing to the weekly meeting of the association, Riaz Ahmed said there is a formula that the government need to formulate for its permanent policy to participate in international exhibitions that if they participate in international exhibitions, the government would bear 80 percent of total expenditures while [providing other necessary facilities and the carpet manufacturers would bear the remaining 20 percent expenditures.
On this occasion, Carpet Training Institute Chairperson Pervez Hanif, central leader Abdul Latif Malik, Saeed Khan, Major (R) Akhter Nazir, Ijazur
Rehman, Malik Akbar, Daniyal Hanif, Faisal Saeed Khan and others were also present.
The participants discussed in details the overall impact of coronavirus pandemic on carpet industry and put forward many proposals to come out of this crisis.
