Like people before the advent of Islamic used to consider the birth of a daughter as a source of embarrassment and curse, a 26-year-old man committed suicide after hearing about the birth of a daughter.
The incident occurred in Manawan area of the metropolis where the man identified Moeez committed suicide out of grief after his wife gave birth to a baby girl.
His family did not report the suicide to the police but took the body to the hospital themselves. The police seized only the pistol from the spot.
So far this year, 17 people have lost their lives due suicide, according to police records. In Model Town Division, four people ended their lives.
Iqbal Town Division had the highest number of suicides where five people committed suicide for various reasons.
