While presiding over the meeting Chairman, Dr. Muhammad Azeem Khan welcomed the committee members and said ensuring sustainable food supply for this huge population is certainly a daunting task and calls for placing maximum emphasis on agricultural productivity enhancement.
Increased growth volatility in agriculture is certainly not a good sign for long-term food security of Pakistan’s burgeoning population hence must be addressed by increasing fund and reinforcing research and innovation.
Agriculture holds the key to ensure domestic food security which is in turn inextricably linked to social and national security.
At the end of the meeting after recitation of Holy Quran, condolence was offered by TAC on sad demise of death of Dr. Haleemul Hasnain, Ex-Member TAC.
