UK diplomat, Commissioner discuss uplift of Karachi

Deputy High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Mike Nithavrianakis called on Commissioner Karachi Dr Muhammad Sohail Rajput at his office on Sunday.
The commissioner informed he guests that the administration is working on various projects for the development of Karachi with future plans. He said that education, health and improvement of traffic system and infrastructure, water supply and social development are among the priorities of the Sindh government.
He gave details of various infrastructure improvement projects of the city.
He said that work on Malir Expressway project is underway to improve the traffic system. Rajput said said that work on water treatment project at the site is underway.
He elaborated on the ongoing development projects of the city in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank under Public-Private Partnership.
The UK Deputy High Commissioner of the United Kingdom appreciated the efforts of the Government of Sindh for the development of Karachi.
He expressed the commitment of the British Government to partner with the Government of Sindh in public-private partnership projects.
He assured that the trade relations between the two countries would be strengthened.
He said that Pakistan would benefit from UK Export Finance in various projects.
There is already a Rs two billion allocation for Pakistan that needs to be fully utilized. In this regard, the Commissioner Karachi and the British Deputy High Commissioner agreed to meet and discuss further to enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Director General Public Private Partnership Government of Sindh Khalid Sheikh, Additional Commissioner Karachi Asad Ali Khan were also present on the occasion.
