Punjab Law Minister Raja Bashsart has said that legal action would be taken if the public meeting of opposition was not held in accordance with the agreement done with the Punjab government. He said that meeting was allowed on the request of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat while addressing a news conference said that the opposition should not endanger the lives of the people. We could ban public meeting due to the threat of Covid 19 but we did not do so.
Opposition had promised to provide masks, sanitizers to the participants in writing, We will observe that to what extent the organizers of the meeting follow the SOPs. Opposition should fulfill national responsibility ad follow the SOPs since Corona cases were rising in the country.
Raja Bashawart said that after signing written agreement with government the opposition was propagating arrests of their workers which was a baseless efforts.
It was being claimed that millions of people would gather in the hall, it was being speculated that this would be the largest rally in the history of Punjab.
If anyone thinks that he will hold a rally in a 30,000-capacity stadium and declare it the biggest rally in history, this is his delusion, he maintained.
