No issue with PDM’s peaceful protest whatsoever: Basharat Raja No one will be allowed to damage public property

Punjab Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Raja Basharat on Wednesday reiterated that no one would be allowed to damage public or private property during the scheduled protest of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
The minister was addressing an emergency meeting held to review the law and order situation ahead of the opposition parties’ protest. The minister categorically said that the government has no issue with the peaceful protest of the opposition, warning that but will never allow anyone to disturb the law and order situation or take law into their hands.
The meeting decided in principle not to allow protestors to vandalize government property. The sources informed that list of the active workers of the opposition parties’ was also presented in the meeting.
The opposition parties are preparing to hold first power show in Gujranwala to kick-off their anti-government movement on October 16.
On October 7, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz had said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) would hold its first rally in Gujranwala on October 16.
Talking to media along with the JUI-F delegation, who called on the PML-N leaders in Jati Umra, Maryam Nawaz had said that she would also extend an invitation to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to attend the rally.
