The Federal Capital may get its own WASA on the pattern of provinces as the government is mulling to separate water and sanitation departments from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) due to the expanding civic needs in the city.
“The government has written a letter to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) through Economic Affairs Division, seeking its technical assistance for carrying out a feasibility study to establish the Water and Sanitation Agency in Islamabad,” said a senior official of the water department, recently transferred back to the CDA from Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad (MCI).
Talking to APP on Sunday, he said the feasibility study would help the government know about practicability of the initiative.
