Badr Rasheed, the complainant of sedition case registered against PML-N leadership, on Wednesday came in contact with the police and sought protection against threats to his life.
According to details, as the sedition case registered against former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and his associates came to light, Badar Rashid feared for his life from “what he said” threats and cam in contact with the police.
Badr Rasheed said that after the registration of the case, the opponents could harm him. “I need protection and now am facing severe threats to my life from my opponents.” Police advised him to limit his movement and avoid unnecessary visits. According to police sources, Badr Rashid was asked to inform the police before going anywhere.
It is to be noted that a case was registered against 40 PML-N leaders including former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider at the Shahdara police station, which includes provisions of sedition and treason.
The case was registered on a written application by a Badr Rashid alias Heera.
Complainant Badar Rashid Heera is the president PTI Youth Wing Ravi Town. He has also contested the election for the slot of UC chairman on PTI ticket. But Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid said the government has nothing to do with the case.
Information Minister Shibli Faraz went one step further and refused to recognize Badar Rashid. This FIR may have been lodged by the persons closed PML-N leadership.
On the other hand, the PML-N has strongly criticized the government’s attitude. The party spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb said that the government has made a person a ‘missing person.’
Azmi Bukhari said that the person who filed the treason case turned out to be a criminal himself. “Cases of attempted murder, possessing illegal arms and interference in government affairs have been registered against “Heera” with the Shahdara Police, Old Anarkali and Sharqpur police”, she claimed.
It is to be noted that cases with treason and mutiny provisions are not usually registered without the permission of the government. The question is how did Badr Rashid filed a serious case so easily? Where did Badar Rashid go missing after filing a case?
Badr Rasheed was arrested by the police in 2018. His criminal record was also collected by taking pictures of the accused in jail.
Dar Rasheed used to attack people with his gang. According to police records, Badar Rasheed had illegal weapons and car interference in the government. Attempted murder cases were registered in Shahdara.
A case of tampering with the police has been registered in Old Anarkali.
