A two-day Course on “Pakistan’s Foreign Policy in a Changing World” organized by Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development And Transparency (PILDAT) concluded here Wednesday.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had inaugurated the course a day earlier i.e. Tuesday. In his inaugural address FM Qureshi had spoken in detail on Pakistan’s diplomatic stance on the Kashmir Issue.
Speakers during the course included Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Chairman, Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Aftab Khokhar, Additional Foreign Secretary (Americas), Ahmer Bilal Soofi, expert on International Law, Lt Gen (Retd.) Naeem Khalid Lodhi, Former Caretaker Defence Minister and former Defence Secretary, Mr Aizaz Chaudhry, Director General, Institute of Strategic Studies (IISI) and former foreign secretary and Dr Ishrat Husain, Adviser to Prime Minister of Pakistan on Institutional Reforms and Austerity.
A mix of participants joined the course including legislators and office bearers of the two key political parties including the PTI and the PML-N. Office bearers and MPs from the PTI who joined the Course included Senator Seemee Ezdi, PTI, Arshad Dad, Senior Vice President, PTI, Mr. Omer Cheema, Central Vice President PTI, Dr Abol Hassan, Additional Secretary General, PTI, Shahid Zia, Secretary Planning and Development PTI, Dr Talat Anwar, Secretary Economic Affairs, PTI and Brig (R) Simon Sharaf, PTI MPs and office bearers from the PML-N who participated in the Course included Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq, Secretary Membership and Training PML-N, Dr Aisha Ghaus Pasha, MNA, and Member PML-N Economic Advisory Council, Ali Zahid, MNA PML-N, Ramesh Arora, former MPA and Central General Secretary, PML-N Minority Wing and Bilal Kiyani, Assistant Secretary General of the PML-N.
The course was also attended by Senator Hasil Bizenjo, President National Party, and Saleem Safi, renowned journalist.
