India would be under pressure in UNGA over Kashmir: Akram

One day is left to start the United Nations General Assembly 75th annual session — to be held virtually. Efforts are afoot by the Pakistan mission to highlight vital issues, regarding Kashmir, atrocities against Muslim minorities and rising islamophobia in India along with other global challenges. Prime Minister Imran khan will address the general assembly on 25 September; he is also scheduled to speak at financing for Development and Bio Diversity summits on 29 September and 30 September respectively.
Pakistan mission in New York hosted an informal briefing for media ahead of the annual events and Ambassador Munir Akram spoke about Pakistan point of view on different issues.
In his remarks and an exclusive interview with the Pakistan Observer, he said we are well prepared and the world is listening and watching what is going on in India and IIOK. When asked about Indian attempts to malign Pakistan on such forums, Munir Akram said there is nothing against Pakistan and no pressure tactic will be helpful as the world knows and understands the truth about Kashmir.He said India would be under pressure due to inhuman state terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said India has used terrorizing tactics to subjugate Muslim population which may have very dangerous consequences. How come a country feels comfortable after turning its 200 million Muslims as foes? When asked about prime minister speech at UNGA, he said important issues of Kashmir and Islamophobia would be the focus ,Prime minister will also highlight Pakistan success to contain covid19 pandemic and share his views for economic revival.
Foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will speak at Beijing Women Conference with the agenda of gender equality and empowerment of women it is pertinent Ambassador Munir Akram will also address different forums as head of Economic and Social Council. Munir Akram told the media all events are virtual and world leaders will video address the sessions due to covid 19 restrictions on assembly and travels by New York State.
