The Bus Rapid Transit system commonly known as BRT has received tremendous response from the dwellers of provincial metropolis as more than 3million commuters have traveled in BRT, and more than 450,000 Zu Cards have been distributed among the citizens since 13 August 2020 when Prime minister Imran Khan inaugurated the mega project of the PTI led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
This momentous project of transport in the provincial capital that replaced the old and orthodox transport system in vogue and was the dire need of the city has been widely appreciated by the public. IT is the 3rd Generation system and BRT Service runs16 hours daily thus catering to thousands of commuters on daily basis.
During rush hours in the city, the department is running special busses to cater passengers load on stations. BRT system of Peshawar is closely monitored by cameras installed on each and every bus and stations. Spokesperson TransPeshawar Umair Khan told Observer that despite our untiring efforts, cooperation of the public was much needed in order to make the flag ship project of the KP government a real success.
He appealed to the Commuters to avoid seating on the designated seats of females, special persons and aged people besides scanning properly their ZU card on all entry and exit points of BRT stations.
