Planning & Development Board Punjab organizes the concluding ceremony of training workshop of district commercial court judges
Planning & Development Board, Government of Punjab in collaboration with Lahore High Court and Punjab Judicial Academy organized a six day intensive training workshop of the district commercial court judges supported by the World Bank, IFC, Group. The Lahore High Court has designated seven courts of Lahore, Faislabad, Multan, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi to exclusively hear and dispose of commercial cases. The landmark initiative by the Lahore High Court which is part of the Ease of Doing Business Reforms Action Plan being implemented by the Government of Punjab, Planning & Development Board in collaboration with relevant Provincial Departments is first of its kind in the country to facilitate the business community and restore investor confidence.
The training sessions were conducted by learned judges and senior and eminent lawyers of the Supreme Court and the Lahore High Court and experts from various fields. The training module was designed after extensive consultation with all relevant stakeholders under the supervision of Justice Shahid Karim & Justice Jawad Hassan.
The inaugural ceremony of the training workshop was held on 07th of September, 2020. The Honorable Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony.

The concluding ceremony was attended by Senior Judges of the Supreme Court & Lahore High Court, the Chief Secretary Punjab, Jawad Rafique Malik, the Inspector General of Police, Inam Ghani, Chairman Planning & Development Board, Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh, Senior Member of Board of Revenue, Babar Hayat Tarar, Secretary I&C, Waqas Ali Mehmood, Commissioner Lahore and Program Director, PIU, Ali Jalal, business community, senior lawyers and academia.
