Rescue 1122 commemorates world First Aid Day

The Director General Punjab Emergency Service Dr. Rizwan Naseer led the World First Aid Day awareness walk from Lahore Rescue Command & Control Center to commemorate World First Aid Day with the theme “First Aider in Every Home”.
DG Rescue Punjab said that the purpose to commemorate this day is to promote the importance of First Aider at every home to the timely provision of first aid in case of emergency, prevent future injuries, and saving lives through first aid training across Punjab.
The senior officers from Rescue Headquarters, Academy, Lahore District, Rescuers, and a large number of Rescue Scouts attended the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director General, Punjab Emergency Service Dr. Rizwan Naseer, motivated volunteers and briefed about the importance of First Aid Day and First Aid training by giving an example of rescue operations in which timely first aid has been provided to 8.4 million victims of emergencies since the inception of the Service. He further briefed that the Punjab Emergency Service had also launched First Aider at every home program and trained over a million first aider in all Union Councils of Punjab.
He also emphasized on the preparedness of the community regarding First Aid to the timely provision of first aid to victims of emergency & disaster and reduces the number of disabilities.
Earlier, the Head of Community, Safety and information Ms Deeba Shahnaz briefed DG Rescue Punjab that about over a Million of community members have been trained as First Aider across Punjab under the program” First Aid At Every Home” lunched in 2020. Out of these over a million trained Community First Aiders, 328132 are female community first aider in Punjab.

The Director General Punjab Emergency Service Dr. Rizwan Naseer appreciated Community & Safety Wing Rescue Headquarters and all District Emergency Officers for promoting first aid and safety through Rescue Scouts. Dr Rizwan said that only well-trained community members can significantly contribute to reducing morbidity and mortality rate by providing immediate assistance to the victims of emergencies at the initial stage.
He also requested to join hands with Emergency Service and learn lifesaving skills to further contribute to your respective areas as collective efforts are highly needed to establish healthy safe and resilient communities in Pakistan.
