Punjab Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Social Welfare Raja Basharat took notice of the incident of robbery and rape of a woman on the Motorway in Gujjarpura area of the city and sought a report from the Inspector General of Police on the progress so far.
He lamented the incident and said that strict action would be taken against the negligent police personnel while Chief Minister Usman Buzdar directed to ensure justice to the affected families.
“Such incidents are extremely painful for us,” the law minister said and expressed full sympathies with the bereaved family.
He assured the affected family that the culprits will be arrested at the earliest and punished.
Raja Basharat said that the IGP and police officers concerned have been directed to use all scientific methods including geo-tagging to arrest the culprits.
