Sindh Governor Imran Ismail took to Twitter on Sunday morning to express gratitude to Prime Minister Imran Khan for announcing a “historic” Karachi package.
He said the rain-ravaged city needed this package, adding the government will lay out a comprehensive plan to revamp other cities of the Sindh province as well. “The prime minister proved that Karachi is not alone,” he added.
Prime Minister Khan had on Saturday evening announced a ‘historic’ Rs1100 billion financial package for the execution of a transformation plan meant to address the city’s chronic issues and meet its developmental requirements.
Briefing media about the Karachi package here at Governor House, he said the federal government is fully aware of the problems being faced by the people of Karachi over the past many years and the PTI government has decided to resolve all perennial issues of the metropolis.
Later, Governor Imran Ismail watched the horse race in connection with The Defense Day Cup at Karachi Race Club and handed over the prize cup to the winner of the race. Governor’s Adviser Ali Junejo and Member Provincial Assembly Ali Aziz GG were also present on the occasion.
Talking to media, Governor Sindh said that the package of more than Rs. 1100 billion announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan for Karachi would be very helpful in resolving the problems of Karachi. He said that in his entire political life he has never seen a more serious effort to solve the problems of the city leader.
He said that as a citizen of Karachi he was grateful to Prime Minister Imran Khan who He made it clear that he would never leave Karachi alone. Governor Sindh said that it was not the time to blame each other but to solve Karachi’s problems through a joint strategy as Karachi’s development He said that Karachi Transformation Plan has been prepared in consultation with all stakeholders and their views would be taken into account at every stage to make it a reality.
