Pir Naqib-ur-Rehman leads Fateha for eternal peace of departed soul

Pakistan Observer in collaboration with Nazriya Pakistan Council (NPC) and 101 Friends of China on Sunday organized Quran Khawani and Fateha to mark the 3rd Death Anniversary of late Mr Zahid Malik (Sitara-i-Imtiaz) the Founder Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer and Founder Chairman of the NPC and 101 Friends of China.
A large number of people from various segments of society including diplomatic community participated in the solemn ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Quaid, Fatima Jinnah Park.
Prominent among those who attended the Quran Khawani included NPC Chairman Dr Naeem Ghani, Senior Vice Chairman Mian Muhammad Javed, Executive Committee Member Dr Basharat Jazbi, Editor-in-Chief Pakistan Observer Faisal Zahid Malik, Executive Editor Pakistan Observer and Executive Secretary NPC, Gauhar Zahid Malik, Group Managing Editor of Pakistan Observer Omar Zahid Malik, former Information Minister Nisar A Memon, former Deputy Speaker National Assembly, Haji Nawaz Khokhar, Vice Admiral (R) Tasneem Ahmed, Ambassador of Morocco Mohamed Karmoune, Charge D’Affaires Azerbaijan Embassy, noted writer Prof Fateh Mohammad Malik, intellectual Farooq Adil, former DG CDA Iftikhar Ahmed Awan, Advocate M Bilal, daughter of late Gen Hamid Gul, Uzma Gul, media icon Nawab Kaifi, youths, family members, close friends and associates of late Zahid Malik. Custodian of Edigah Sharif, Pir Muhmmad Naqib-ur-Rehman led the collective Dua for the departed soul of Zahid Malik. He prayed for eternal peace of late Zahid Malik’s soul. He also prayed for solidarity and wellbeing of Pakistan, right of self-determination for the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) and triumph of the oppressed Muslims in other parts of the world who are struggling for their rights against oppressors. Eminent Qari Najam Mustafa recited verses from Holy Quran. Prof Syed Asad Ali and Mehmood-ul-Hassan Ashrafi from Karachi recited Naat on the occasion. In his word of thanks, Mr Faisal Zahid Malik highlighted services of late Zahid Malik for promoting Ideology of Pakistan and the cause of Kashmir. “My father was a dedicated Pakistani and always kept Pakistan’s interests above any personal or individual benefits,” said Faisal Zahid Malik.
He said he was a witness to a meeting when his father called on the then Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali when late Mr Zahid Malik requested the prime minister to arrange display of plaques inscribed with Quaid’s sayings in the government offices and educational institutions. “Prime Minister Jamali readily agreed to that and today, they are displayed there,” said Faisal Zahid Malik adding, “My father also gave a national slogan: Let’s think what we have given to Pakistan.”
Faisal Zahid Malik expressed the resolve on his and his family’s behalf to continue mission of his late father for the national cause.
