A woman doctor was found murdered in her Bahadurabad home on late Friday night.
The police have said that the partially decomposed body of a woman, later identified as DrAmtullah, 58, was found from a house in Bahadurabad. The body was around three days old. It was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Police Surgeon Qarar Ahmed Abbasi said that the post-mortem examination revealed signs of strangulation. Apparently, the victim was strangled, but doctors reserved the cause of death till the report of a chemical examiner to ascertain whether she was given poison before strangulation.
DrAbbasi said that AmtullahSheikha, daughter of Ghulam Abbas Kapadia, was a doctor by profession. She was a general surgeon and worked at different hospitals in the metropolis.
Quoting her doctor colleagues, the police surgeon said that she was single and lived alone in her home. She was a graduate of the Sindh Medical College in 1986.
Meanwhile, a 60-year-old man committed suicide by shooting himself to death in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, according to police.
They added that Imran Almani ended his life at his home near Perfume Chowk. The body was shifted to the JPMC for medico-legal formalities.
