Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Friday that some quarters have a deep desire to see fissures between the army and the government. He said till now there has been no reason for conflict with the army and there are no signs of it happening in the future either.
Talking to a news channel, Imran Khan said that both external and internal affairs are openly discussed with the military leadership. All decisions on such matters are taken with consensus in the national interest, he added.
Talking about the Punjab government, he said that special focus has been laid for further improvement of governance and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar keeps him informed on every major decision. He said that authorities have been directed to take indiscriminate action against major criminal elements in Punjab and major improvements in governance will be seen in the next few days.
Talking about senior PTI leader and long time companion Jahangir Khan Tareen, he said that his future would be decided by the agencies concerned in view of the investigation. Talking about Saudi Arabia, he said relations with the Arab country were moving forward in a positive direction. Imran Khan said that the National Accountability Bureau was doing its job according to its mandate, and that we want NAB to bring mega corruption scandals to their logical conclusion.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also criticized the convening of an all-party conference by the opposition parties, saying that the opposition has nothing else to do and the APC is just an excuse to appear active.
