The opposition has announced to hold an All Parties Conference (APC) on September 20 in Islamabad. Committee convener Akram Khan Durrani said that a consensus has been reached on APC which will decide the strategy for the future of the government.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Akram Durrani announced this while addressing a joint press conference after the Rehbar Committee meeting on Thursday.
On this occasion, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal alleged that Imran Khan surrendered Kashmir to India and now Pakistan is being ridiculed. PPP leader Raja Pervez Ashraf said that the opposition is ready to cooperate legislatively to satisfy FATF requirements but the government itself has bulldozed the legislative process.
The Rehbar Committee, presided over by Akram Durani, had met in Islamabad to discuss strategy to further strengthen the ties between the opposition parties.
During the session, the members deliberated upon the date of the APC while they also exchanged views on the ongoing political situation of the country. The meeting was attended by Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Ahsan Iqbal and Marriyum Aurangzeb of PML-N, Nayyar Bukhari and Farhatullah Babar of PPP and leaders of eight other opposition parties.
