Lahore’s accountability court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif in an illegal plot case.
Accountability court judge Asad Ali heard the illegal plot allotment reference against Nawaz Sharif and other accused. Police submitted the report of arrest warrant of Nawaz Sharif in the court. Special Prosecutor NAB requested the court to start the trial soon by indicting the accused Mir Shakeel.
The prosecutor said that Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman took a plot from Nawaz Sharif in Johar Town. He later named the plots after his wife and children to save himself. The court arrested Nawaz Sharif on a non-bailable warrant.
The court also directed the Foreign Ministry to execute Nawaz Sharif’s non-bailable warrant through the Pakistan High Commission in London. A further hearing in the case is set for September 17.
