LCCI lauds SBP’s SME complaint portal

Chief Manager, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Javaid Iqbal Marth said that State Bank is launching Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) complaint portal on SBP website.
He was speaking at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He said the complaints will directly reach Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, Chief Manager, Deputy Managers and other officials.
He further added that the complainants would be able to track the progress on their complaints through unique complaint number.
He informed the LCCI members that SME clinics will be started. The SME clinics will provide awareness to SMEs regarding different banking products for their utilization.
President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said on the occasion that the SME sector is neglected in bank financing.
The share of SME sector in bank financing should be increased as this sector needs more support and financing to carry on their business activities.
He said that the initiative of Rozgar Scheme for Salaries & Wages announced by State Bank of Pakistan to facilitate the business community in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak is a positive step.
He said that LCCI is using all its channels to spread awareness about this scheme among its members and hopefully more and more representatives of private sector will benefit from it.
Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) help desk is being discussed and hopefully it would be established in LCCI under Lahore Chamber ‘One Window Smart Services’ for facilitation of LCCI members.
He thanked Chief Manager SBP for nominating focal persons to be accessed through their mobile numbers and also be met in person as and when required Senior Vice President LCCI Ali Hussam Asghar said that the State Bank should initiate more schemes for SMEs which are tailored to their needs so that the share of SMEs in banking finance can be increased. Vice President Mian Zahid Jawaid Ahmad was also present on the occasion.
