The Punjab government has barred officers and employees of different department from sharing official information on social media and giving interviews to media.
According to the details, the Punjab government while issuing the directive said that no officer or employee will share official information on social media. The directive reads that no employee can give official information on social, electronic and print media.
Even a government employee cannot give a media interview, and departmental action will be taken against those who leak government information.
Earlier, the federation had informed the officers and employees that all government employees should not express their views on any subject on electronic and print media. All such employees found violating the ban were warned of stern action.
It may be recalled that on August 4, the federal government also banned government employees from doing private business. Government employees were immediately barred from doing private business, trade and consultancy matters. The government had cautioned the employees against violation of the ban with a stern action.
The conduct of private business affairs of government employees will be tantamount to misconduct. The government employees will have to get prior permission for private business and employment or consultancy services.
The federal government had banned Grade 1 to 16 employees from bringing smartphones to their offices and government officials and their subordinates from contacting the media.
Meanwhile, on directives by Director General Lahore Development Authority, Ahmed Aziz Tarar, the staff of Directorate of Estate Management-I conducted an anti-encroachment operation in the market of block G-1, Johar Town. During the operation, illegally occupied parking spaces in front of shops were vacated by demolishing unlawfully built structures and removing other hurdles that had been hampering pedestrians’ movement besides obstructing smooth flow of traffic. The local shopkeepers had illegally rented out these spaces and were charging for them on monthly basis. The operation improved the traffic circulation in the area.
ILLEGAL STRUCTURE DEMOLISHED
Seven structures were demolished and another two were sealed by LDA during an operation against illegal constructions at Quaid-i-Azam Town and New Garden Town. The operation was launched on the directives by Director General LDA Ahmad Aziz Tarar. The operation was conducted by the staff of Town Planning Wing Zone III along with enforcement staff and police. The staff demolished illegal commercial constructions on plot No. 18 B-1, 300 C-1, 463 C and 604 D-2 Township. The building at plot No. 12 B-1 Township was sealed for construction in the parking lot. Illegal shutters were removed from plot no. 452B-1 Township. Illegal bathrooms built on a vacant lot in plot no. 522 C-3 Township were also demolished.
An illegal commercial building constructed on plot no. 74 Tipu Block in Garden Town was demolished and its boundary was sealed. Illegal building at plot no. 116 Babar Block in Garden Town was also sealed.
