Participants of an online condolence reference paid rich tributes to Nazriya Pakistan Council’s (NPC) senior member of the executive committee and former federal minister Dr Basharat Jazbi who recently passed away on Aug 23.
Chairman of the NPC Dr Naeem Ghani, Senior Vice Chairman Mian Muhammad Javed and Executive Secretary of the NPC Gauhar Zahid Malik remembered Dr Jazbi as a committed Pakistani, a dedicated worker and a proponent of the Ideology of Pakistan among people, particularly the youth.
NPC Chairman Dr Naeem Ghani said for Dr Basharat Jazbi Pakistan always came first and he wanted the youths of Pakistan to be proud of their country.
Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah had dreamt of a progressive, prosperous and peaceful Pakistan and Dr Basharat Jazbi in all his interactions with the youths and people from different walks of life gave the same message of the Quaid, he said.
In the NPC meetings too, Dr Basharat Jazbi used to propose various ideas as how to make people, particularly the youth realize significance of the Ideology of Pakistan and how we could inculcate that spirit in our lives, said Dr Naeem Ghani while remembering Jazbi.
Mian Muhammad Javed also paid rich compliments to Dr Jazbi for his “tireless efforts and his enthusiastic participation in the NPC events.”
Dr Basharat Jazbi despite his age and poor health always remained in the frontline singing patriotic songs, holding Pakistan’s flag in his hand, in short, he was a role model for the young and the old alike, said Mian Javed.
Gauhar Malik also spoke high of Dr Jazbi and termed his death a great loss for the NPC. Dr Jazbi was among those the Founder Chairman of the NPC late Zahid Malik chose as a close and trusted aide and later, time proved Zahid Malik was right in his judgment, said Gauhar Zahid Malik.
He said Dr Basharat Jazbi’s death had left a vacuum that would take time to fill.
Apart from them, other members of the executive committee also paid rich tributes to their colleague and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
Those who spoke on the occasion and remembered their colleague in glowing words included Sen Razina Alam Khan, Maj Gen (R) Muhammad Tahir, Admiral (R) Aziz A Mirza, Abudllah Yousuf, Prof Ayub Sabir, Mrs Qamar Aftab, Manzoor Masih and Nargis Nazir.
