Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar has said that the opposition’s attitude on Federally Administered Tribal Areas(FATF) is not in the country’s interest.
“The opposition should give priority to national interest over personal and political interests.”
Governor Ch Sarwar expressed these views while talking to Federal Defense Minister Pervaiz Khattak who called on him in Governor’s House here on Friday. National and political matters came under discussion during this meeting.
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar said that the PTI government is united under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Our government has no danger from within or outside the parliament. PTI government and Prime Minister Imran Khan will complete term till 2023. The Punjab governor said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has no personal agenda.
He is only working for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan. He said that this is not the right time for political point-scoring; therefore, the opposition should not only support the legislation regarding Federally Administered Tribal Areas but they should also play a positive role in the country’s unity because it is the need of the hour.
The Punjab governor said that the supremacy of law and order is the topmost priority of the PTI government.
The government is taking practical steps to strengthen institutions so that accountability can be ensured at every level. It is unfortunate that some elements cannot tolerate successfully progressive Pakistan and they want instability to prevail in the country but we will not let this happen at any cost.
Chaudhry Sarwar said that the government is working vigorously to strengthen Pakistan economically due to which there has been a considerable decrease in the current account deficit.
He said that the World’s Economic organisations are also praising the economic upswing of Pakistan. Pakistan is moving forward on the road to progress, he added.
