Sindh Education and Labour Minister Saeed Ghani on Friday visited various city areas that were affected by rains and reviewed the dewatering process there. At SaforaChowrangi, he said the heavy rains are continuing in Gulistan-e-Jauhar and surrounding areas, so it was getting difficult to dewater the inundated areas. The minister reviewed the ongoing work of drainage of rainwater collected on various roads. “We are fully aware that the citizens are facing difficulties after the rains, “Saeed Ghani said, adding, “We are in this city and on the streets to alleviate the suffering of the people.” He asserted that all institutions and their employees are there to provide public services and alleviate their hardships. Relief work is also facing difficulties due to heavy rains, he viewed but said, “We assure the public that we are on the streets using all available resources for drainage until this work is completed.” Later, Ghani arrived on the Super Highway to inspect the dam being constructed on an emergency basis in view of the threat of rain water on M-9. A 6-foot-high dam is being built on an emergency basis to save M-9. Saeed Ghani “With this closure, we will be able to prevent Karachi from being cut off from the superhighway,” Ghani said.
