Punjab Senior and Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan has said that the young men who provide relief to citizens in case of emergency are the real heroes of society, who risk their lives to save the lives of others.
He said it is for the great cause of service to others, and hats off to all such parents whose children serve the country and the nation in such a courageous manner, saving people’s lives in difficult situations and receive prayers and gratitude of elders and mothers.
These views were expressed by Punjab Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan while addressing the 32nd passing-out parade of 242 rescuers at the Emergency Services Academy, here on Thursday.
He recalled that, in 2004, when Recue 1122 was established under the regime of the then Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, he had also been a part of that government.
He expressed that in these past 16 years the seeds that were planted had become a healthy tree and now its network is even present at the tehsil level.
Abdul Aleem Khan said that such services increase the sense of security among the common citizens and we can all be proud and appreciative of this sector.
Senior Minister assured Rescue 1122 that more facilities would be provided, and that problems would be solved on priority basis. Abdul Aleem Khan asserted that the scope of such services should be as wide as possible so that people in every area have the opportunity to benefit from these services.
Abdul Aleem Khan, along with DG Rescue 1122 Dr. Rizwan Naseer, inspected various departments of the Emergency Services Academy and reviewed the emergency services being provided by the rescuers in water, fire, wells and collapsed buildings.
He also witnessed demonstrations by swimmers and divers rescuing civilians and jumping from tall buildings, and praised the spirit of rescue officers, rescuers and the training team.
Additional Secretary Home Salman Ghani, PTI Central Leader Dr. Azeem Lakhvi, 242 Emergency Medical Technicians, and their parents were also present on this occasion.
Dr. Rizwan Naseer, Director General, Rescue Services 1122, told that so far 19,000 cadets have undergone practical training, while these youngsters have rendered unparalleled services in the Corona environment. The academy is the only institution to be recognized at SAARC level in terms of its quality in 2018. Cadets were also sworn in on the occasion while Chief Guest Abdul Aleem Khan was felicitated at the passing out parade. Prizes were also distributed among the cadets who secured the position in this training.
Speaking on the occasion, Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said that in the Sub-continent, in particular, elders and scholars of the religion played a major role in the spreading of Islam, and worked a lot for the religion of Islam through their actions and teachings. He said that Baba Farid Uddin Ganj Shakar spread the message of love and peace in the region. Abdul Aleem Khan also said that the Islamic teachings imparted by these elders, along with Sufism, are universal and undoubtedly their lives are a beacon for all of us. On this occasion, Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan spoke to the pilgrims and inquired about the facilities provided to them at the Shrine. Abdul Aleem Khan also distributed sweets and food among the people. Provincial Minister Mian Khalid Mehmood & Ex MPA Alhaaj Mohammad Shoaib Siddiqui were also present on this occasion.
