The Lahore Waste Management Company made special cleanliness arrangements in the city in connection with Muharramul Harram. In this regard, extraordinary measures have been taken to ensure and maintain effective cleanliness around Imambargahs and procession routes.
According to the LWMC, it has conducted special mechanical sweeping and washing of all Imambargahs of the city followed by ensuring cleaning of procession routes and surround areas of mourning sessions. For the convenience of the citizens, all the containers of Imambargahs and processions were emptied in time. LWMC has lifted more than 11,000 tons of waste since first Muharram.
Muharram cleanliness operation is being monitored by MD LWMC and top management. MD LWMC stated that “to maintain cleanliness is our top priority” and in this regard, department is ensuring all its resources. LWMC performs its duties well at every occasion, festival and season, he added. He also said that the best standard of cleanliness would be maintained during Muharram and the complaints of the citizens would be resolved on priority basis.
Furthermore, Spokesperson LWMC said that department is working tirelessly to ensure and maintain 100 percent cleanliness. Citizens should also cooperate with the department as without the cooperation of public LWMC cannot maintain cleanliness in the city.
He added that in case of waste-related complaints citizens can dial LWMC helpline 1139 or can use mobile-based application Clean Lahore.
