The Majalis organisers will have to cooperate with the administration and police to ensure the implementation of Corona SOPs including security during mourning ceremonies and Ashura processions in Sialkot district during Muharram.
DC Sialkot Dr. Nasir bashir said this while addressing a meeting of the organizers and license holders of traditional and ancient processions and gatherings of Zul Jinnah at Anwar Club Auditorium, Sialkot.
He further said that in order to prevent the spread of Corona virus, it is necessary to keep social distances, avoid shaking hands and use masks. District Police Officer Capt (Retd) Mustansir Feroze, Coordinator District Peace Committee Hafiz Asghar Ali Cheema, Pir Ghulam Hussain Sultani besides local officials of relevant departments including SDPOs and SHOs across the district were also present on the occasion.
District Police Officer Sialkot Capt (retd) Mustansir Feroze said that the district police would work with the administration to ensure peaceful conduct of processions and gatherings.
He said that in order to maintain an atmosphere of peace in the city, we all have to show responsibility and while maintaining an atmosphere of unity and harmony among ourselves, we have to keep a close eye on the evil elements so that they can carry out their nefarious intentions. He said that as per tradition, young police personnel would provide security cover to processions and gatherings.
He said that the organizers of the processions and gatherings would co-operate with the police and concerned agencies and perform their duties in an efficient manner. At the end of the ceremony, Pir Ghulam Hussain Sultani prayed for the security and stability of the country and the nation.
