Islamabad

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday filed another supplementary reference against former president Asif Ali Zardari, in the Park Lane case in an accountability court in Islamabad.
The supplementary reference includes evidence of borrowing money on forged documents which the Park Lane company had been refusing to repay.
Two more accused of a private bank had also been named in the supplementary reference.
Earlier on August 10, the accountability court had indicted Zardari in a case [Park Lane] involving allegations of money laundering and misuse of authority, but all accused pleaded not guilty.
Zardari, who is reportedly ill, appeared before Islamabad Accountability Court-II Judge Azam Khan via video link from Bilawal House in Karachi. The former president pleaded not guilty. Earlier, Zardari told the judge that his counsel, Farooq H Naek, could not appear in the court due to his engagement in the apex court and that the court should defer the indictment process.
