Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas on Monday hinted at the reopening of schools in two shifts across the province from September 15, reported a private TV channel.
“Betterment of the children is the top priority of the government and that’s why reopening of the schools is being considered in two shifts across the province”, the minister said in his statement issued amid confusion over the reopening educational institutions.
He warned that the schools open before September 15, would have to face action as nobody can blackmail the government. The Punjab education minister said that standard operating procedures (SOPs) will be finalised in meeting with the private schools owners, added that a final decision about reopening of schools across Punjab will be taken soon.
Earlier this week, it was decided that the educational institutions in the country would reopen from September 15.
Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood had chaired a meeting of all education ministers which finalised that the schools and universities would resume classes from next month.
Last week, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani had warned against early reopening of educational institutions in the province.
In a statement, Saeed Ghani had termed the private schools association’s decision about reopening of educational institutions tantamount to challenge the writ of the government.

TRAINING
Meanwhile, the government has decided to impart training to district education officers and teachers of on Corona SOPs before the opening of school. The training workshop will start from August 20 across the province.
As many as, 60 master trainers and 596 teachers will be trained from Lahore district and the training workshop will continue till September 10. According to the School Education Department, training of teachers and officers related to SOPs is very important before the opening of the school.
As soon as the school opens, full implementation of Corona SOPs will be carried out by the children and teachers.
According to school education, training will be provided to officers from August 22, master trainers from August 24 to 26, teachers from August 27 to September 2 and PST teachers from September 3 to September 10.
