Various organizations and departments celebrated Independence Day of the motherland by holding different ceremonies and events including flag-hoisting in different parts of the city on Friday.
UVAS FLAG-HOISTING, CEREMONIES
The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore celebrated the Independence Day of Pakistan in a befitting manner on Friday.
Flag-hoisting ceremonies, walks, seminars,national songs, music performances, debates and cake cutting ceremonies featuredthe day at all UVAS campuses. The day began with Quran Khawani and special prayers in the university mosque for the martyrs and for the progress and prosperity of the country and university. Later a flag-hoisting ceremony was arranged at City Campus. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad hoisted the national flag while faculty members and administrative staff attended in large numbers.
The university also arranged a walk. VC Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad led the walk while faculty members and staff participated.
GCU MARKS I-DAY
The Government College University (GCU) Lahore on Friday celebrated the Independence Day with special prayers for the peace and prosperity of the country, and paid tribute to frontline corona warriors especially to doctors and paramedics.
Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar along with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Asghar Zaidi and academic heads hoisted the national flag in the University’s Bukhari Auditorium while the limited number of faculty members, staff and students were in attendance. Addressing the ceremony, the Punjab governor remembered the brothers and sisters of occupied Kashmir who had been suffering at the hands of the Indian forces for the past many decades.
UET CELEBRATES I-DAY
Flag-hoisting ceremony on Independence Day was held at University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore. UET Lahore main campus was fully decorated with illuminations, national flags, banners, and buntings to give a festive look. UET Lahore Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar graced the occasion as chief guest and formally inaugurated the function by waving the national flag. All Deans, Chairpersons, Registrar, Treasurer, and other administrative staff attended the event and showed solidarity with Pakistan. Social distancing and Government SOPs were strictly observed in the event.
PRESIDENT LIBERLAND GREETS PAKISTANIS
On the occasion of 73rd Independence Day of Pakistan, President Liberland Vit Jedlicka congratulated the Pakistani nation. In his message, President Liberland Vit Jedlicka said that August 14 is a very important day in the history of Pakistan. On this day, Muslims of India sacrificed their lives for a free homeland which was appreciated by the whole world.
Consul General of Pakistan Faisal Butt congratulated the Pakistani nation on the occasion of Independence Day.
LCCI HOLD CELEBRATIONS
The national flag was hoisted at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry to mark the 73rd anniversary of the country’s establishment as an independent, sovereign nation. As the national anthem was played, the LCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, Senior Vice President Ali Hussam Asghar, Vice President Mian Zahid Jawaid Ahmad, former President Mohammad Ali Mian, former Senior Vice Presidents Amjad Ali Jawa, Khawaja Khawar Rashid, former Vice President Kashif Anwar and Executive Committee Members raised the flag to the mast before a huge gathering. The proceedings began with recitation from the Holy Quran.
NTDC CELEBRATE I-DAY
The National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) celebrated 73rd independence day of Pakistan at NTDC offices and grid stations across the country. A graceful ceremony was held at 220 kV grid station New Kot Lakhpat Grid Station to celebrate the Independence Day with national zeal and valour. Chief Guest of the ceremony Managing Director NTDC Engr. Dr. Khawaja Riffat Hassan hoisted the National Flag followed by the National Anthem.
Dy Managing Directors (AD&M) & (P&E), NTDC General Managers, Chief Engineers and other Senior officers, employees and their children were also present during the ceremony. A group of kids wearing national dresses and march past by NTDC security staff fascinated the gathering.
