This year we are deeply sad-dened by the massive flood disaster and the destruc-tion it has caused. I wish almighty Allah’s mercy to our brothers and sisters who lost their lives in the flood disaster and a speedy recovery to those who were injured. As brothers of Pakistan, we give all our support and solidarity to alleviate the suffering of our Pakistani brothers and sisters” – Cemal San-gu According to the envoy, the Turkish Emergency and Disaster Management Authority AFAD, the Turkish Red Crescent Society, and with more than 10 Turkish NGOs are actively working in Sindh & Balochistan. Turkiye has provided 13 charity trains and around 10 trucks of aid. The total relief items are around seven thousand five hundred tons, which include thousands of tents, blankets, beds, pillows, food parcels, hygienic and cleaning items, kitchen sets, motor boats, medical items, medicines, etc.
“And we did not send only the relief items but also tens of our aid teams came here and carried out aid operations on the ground. Turkish and Pakistani people stood by each other in all good and bad times. We can never forget the support given to us by the Muslims of the sub-continent during the First World War. We are always grateful for the people from this region. We have 90 thousand mosques in Türkiye and during the flood time, every Friday prays Turkish people prayed for Pakistan during their Friday prayers and they collected aid for Paki-stani brothers and sisters. Of course, we will not stop here.
