9 held for decanting gas, 16 for selling kites

The district police Rawalpindi on Tuesday arrested nine persons for decanting gas illegally and 16 others for selling kites and string.

In the first operation, the local police teams arrested nine persons for illegally decanting the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) into cylinders on Tuesday. Gas cylinders and decanting equipment were also recovered from the locality during a crackdown.

SaddarBairuni police arrested Saeed and Ahmad; Rawat police arrested Arsalan, Abu Bakr, Zaheer Rashid;Kahuta police arrested Shehzad, Raffakat and Arif and Jatli police arrested Abdul Masood in separate action against violators and recovered gas cylinders and other related equipment from their possession.

The concerned police stations have registered cases against the nabbed persons under the relevant sections of the laws and further investigation was in progress till the filing of this report. SP (Saddar) Bilal MehmoodSulihari said that operations will be continued against law-breaking elements.
