822 corona patients recovered in 24 hours: Secy

As many as 822 corona patients have recovered in public sector hospitals of the province during last 24 hours.

Sharing an update on the coronavirus condition, Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Secretary Barrister Nabeel Ahmed Awan said that said that as many as 183,295 corona patients have so far recovered in 200 public sector hospitals of Punjab being run under the control of Specialized and Primary & Secondary Healthcare departments.

He said that 6,667 beds were reserved in all govt-owned hospitals for corona patients, out of which 4,066 beds were unoccupied.

Likewise, 1,597 beds were reserved in govt hospitals of the provincial metropolis and 765 beds were vacant so far, he added.

The SHC&MED secretary said that in view of the surging corona pandemic, the Specialized Healthcare Department had arranged 3221 beds in Isolation wards of all govt.

hospitals in the province, out of which, 2360 beds were vacant. However, 447 beds for corona patients are reserved in isolation wards set up in govt. hospitals of Lahore and 315 beds are unoccupied, he added.

In addition, 2803 beds are also reserved in HDU for patients suffering from Covid-19 in all the hospitals of Punjab government and 1434 beds are vacant while, in hospitals of Lahore, 900 beds reserved in HDU and 409 beds are unoccupied, Nabeel Awan added.
