Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Headquarters Kashif Raza Awan Saturday said that 775 open manholes were covered with lids in the city during the last three months and no manhole was now without a lid in 107 union councils of the city.
Chairing a meeting here on Saturday, he said that the manholes belonged to the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Pakistan Telecommunication Corporation Limited (PTCL).
He said told the meeting that road bumps speed-bumps were established near 138 government and 141 private educational institutes to facilitate students to cross roads safely, while 5,999 streetlights were made functional in 137 city councils to facilitate the residents as well as travelers.
