Chairman of the Nazriya Pakistan Council (NPC) Mian Muhammad Javed on Monday termed Pakistan a divine gift and a result of epic struggle by Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, his followers and the workers of the Pakistan Movement who laid down great sacrifices for a separate homeland of their own.

Creation of Pakistan was not an ordinary thing, he said. Our Founding Fathers faced a great deal of resistance from both the Hindu majority and the British who opposed a separate country for the Muslims of the subcontinent but Quaid by virtue of his determination and indomitable will power made it possible. Mian Muhammad Javed expressed these views after participating in the flag-hoisting ceremony and the 76th Independence Day celebrations at the Aiwan-e-Quaid, Fatima Park (F-9) Park.

Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer Faisal Zahid Malik, Executive Secretary of the NPC Gauhar Zahid Malik, Executive Member of the Pakistan Girl Guides Association Ms Naeem Fatima Alvi and Director Media Hameed Qaiser also participated in the flag-hoisting ceremony along with guests and students.

Members of the Pakistan Girl Guides and students of various schools presented national anthem and patriotic songs on the occasion. They vowed to carry forward the golden legacy of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.

Earlier, Mian Muhammad Javed said the Two Nation Theory provided the basis for the establishment of Pakistan and Quaid-e-Azam in his speeches and addresses on different occasions had given an outline of the proposed state for the Muslims of India.

While commenting on the present-day economic, political and social challenges, Mian Muhammad Javed said we were facing these challenges because we were drifted away from the vision of the Quaid-e-Azam. A close study of Quaid’s life and struggle and can provide us a clear guideline to achieve prosperity and stability, he said. Later Director Media briefed the guests about the NPC and its activities. He also took them to the Quaid Gallery, Kashmir Gallery and showed rare photographs of the Pakistan Movement.
